St. John Bosco

Saint John Bosco is primarily known for his dedication to the education and well-being of disadvantaged youth. He founded the Salesians of Don Bosco, a religious order focused on helping and guiding underprivileged young men. He is also known as the "Father and Teacher of Youth".

Founder of the Salesians:

He established the Society of St. Francis de Sales, also known as the Salesians, in 1859. This order is dedicated to working with young people, particularly those from impoverished backgrounds.

Co-founder of the Salesian Sisters:

He co-founded the Daughters of Mary, Help of Christians, also known as the Salesian Sisters, in 1872.

Advocate for youth:

He developed a unique educational approach centered on "reason, religion, and loving kindness," which became known as the Salesian Preventive System. This system emphasizes a positive and nurturing environment, rather than harsh discipline.
